5 reasons why you shouldn’t get cosmetic tattooing

It all begins with you

Are You Hesitant About Getting Your Brows Done? Here's Why You Might Want to Hold Off 🤓

Are you contemplating getting your brows or any semi-permanent treatment, but keep talking yourself out of it? Let me give you five reasons why you might want to wait before taking the plunge.

1. Anxiety and Depression

If you suffer from anxiety or depression, it's best to avoid cosmetic tattooing for now. The healing process and aftercare can be challenging, and it's important to be in the right mindset to handle it. Instead, focus on self-care activities like meditation, yoga, or speaking with professionals to improve your mental health before considering cosmetic tattooing. 🧘🏻‍♀️🙏🏼

2. Pregnancy or Breastfeeding

Tattooing is not recommended during pregnancy or breastfeeding. While it hasn't been extensively tested, it's better to be safe than sorry. Prioritise your and your baby's health first. 🤰

3. Recent Skin Treatments

If you've recently had peels, lasers, or microdermabrasion on or around the area you want to tattoo, wait at least 4 weeks. This ensures your skin is fully healed and ready for the cosmetic tattooing process. 🧖

4. Active Skin Care Ingredients

Using products with active ingredients like retinol, vitamin A, or Accutane? You'll need to wait at least six months after discontinuing their use. These ingredients thin the skin and can hinder the healing process.🧴

5. Existing Brow Tattoos

If you have an old brow tattoo that's more than 5 years old, consider undergoing a few sessions of laser removal or using saline or glycolic acid removal methods. Removing old pigment ensures a clean canvas, allowing your artist to create the most natural-looking brows for you.

By understanding these important factors, you can make an informed decision about when is the best time for you to get cosmetic tattooing done. Focus on your overall well-being and ensure your skin is in its best condition for the most beautiful results.🔥

And these are the only reasons why I wouldn’t recommend getting cosmetic tattooing done. Worrying about whether it will suit you or if the color will be right is nothing to be concerned about. Cosmetic tattooing is designed to look natural, and your artist will ensure that the treated area is measured to perfectly suit your facial features.

I recommend booking consultations in a few studio you like, the one you feel most comfortable and confident with, GO WITH THAT!!

You don’t need a professor or therapist to tell you how important it is to SELF-CARE!

It all begins with you

Please be advised, I am not a counsellor and I am not giving out mental heath advice. This blog is about my personal journey. I highly recommend if you're struggling with self love and self care, seeking help from a licensed therapist or counsellor which can provide you with the right tools and strategies to improve your mental health.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT MY SELF-CARE JOURNEY 📖

My self-care and self-confidence story is a little funny and a little sad. Sad because, looking back, 14 year old me could have been happier and more confident.💛 I had no clue about self care or what it really meant.

I was a typical teenager who wanted the pain to end, I felt like I was drowning in soft sand. No one would listen to me. I was living in a foreign country (Italy) and thought everyone hated me✨

The thought of other people even saying my name made me feel so small and embraced. I am not proud to admit that I used to be in that sad mentality and judged everyone. I had zero self-love. At 19, I was in such a bad place that I left school in my last year, gained weight, was in a very controlling and toxic relationship, pushed away a lot of people I loved, and didn’t have a good relationship with my parents.

But I finally realised at one point that it’s not about what others think, it’s really just about what I think about myself, how I tals to myself and judge myself, and how I want to feel everyday of my life. We all have our problems, we all have something to solve. That doesn’t mean we have to be nasty to someone else or to yourself just because you think you have it worse than anyone else. For so many years, I was punishing myself because I thought I didn’t deserve to feel good and be confident everyday. I was so blind I couldn’t see what these people with so much confidence had.

You know, I understood we don’t need a professor or a therapist to tell us to self care and self love, it’s common sense, it lives in us. All we need to do is stop allowing our true selves to drown.

✨At the age of 28, my life turned around for the best. I finally got myself out of the toxic relationship, pushed all the toxic people out of my life, and started to surround myself with like-minded, good, kind people, people who wanted me to grow and thrive.

💛This is where I finally started to practice self care.

I started talking to myself in a kind way and started to uplift myself. I great things for myself like, walking, yoga and meditating, and I was introduced to the law of attraction, something I will talk about in another blog. Slowly, my mind was opening up to the bright light, I didn’t feel that suffocating feeling anymore. I lost the 5 kilos I could never get rid of. My skin was glowing, and I wanted to see, live more, and do more. I finally started to look after myself, bought new makeup, and threw the old stuff away. I got lip fillers, which made me feel confident. It is something I would of never done before. I made new friends. I started looking at myself with love, care, and respect, and most importantly, there was no hate. I haven’t judged anyone or myself since I was reborn.

I focused on my business, which took a new turn. That year, I even met the love of my life.

After all I understood what self-care is truly about.

It’s about logging off and being a little selfish, not in a way that hurts anyone. I had to stop taking other people’s pains into my own feelings and I started to be selfish.

Ex: If someone comes to me with a personal situation. I will listen and be there for them but the say “I am so sorry this has happened, I will connect you with someone who can help,” and then switch off the care button and don’t take their worries as my own.

Another way to deal with stress and keep my barriers up, is I need to remember that things have a purpose and a solution.🔑💛

I AM SURE YOU ARE WONDERING WHY I AM TELLING YOU MY WHOLE LIFE STORY WHEN WE ARE HERE TO TALK ABOUT SELF-CARE. 😅 What does this have to do with self-care? All I want to find out is what skincare to use, when to get my brows done, and how to feel good!!
